You are Loved (Part 6 of 6)
I don’t remember how or even when it happened. I woke up one day realizing that God was furiously in love with me. It was like my eyes where opened a little. Here is the best imagery I could think of to explain how I was encountering God;
A person can sit in a chair and not talk to another human being for the rest of their life and God would not love them anymore or any less. He is just fiercely in love with us.
It is God’s love for a person that is the final realization that someone must learn to get rooted in to help prevent burnout. That’s right, we need to learn to rest in God’s love for us. No matter what happens God’s love doesn’t change for a person.
How do you experience God’s love? Do you believe that, no matter what has happened or you have done, God loves you?
Conclusion
Over the last six weeks I have been looking at burnout prevention.
First, I defined burnout as: physical or mental collapse caused by overwork or stress.
Second, I described the symptoms and consequences of burnout. Symptoms range from attitudes, (being critical or impatient), physical (lack of energy, headaches, or stomach issues), a change in sleep patterns, and using substances (food or alcohol) to dull how you feel. Consequences range from physical, psychological issues, substance problems, and unexplained illnesses.
Third, is that people need to find a hobby. Hobbies are defined as; an activity that rebuilds a person (spiritually, emotionally, & physically) and gives them joy that is done on a consistent basis.
Fourth, is that a person needs to be exercising. Exercise helps by decreasing anxiety and depression. In addition, it also increases energy levels, brings blood to the brain that increases brain health and memory and increases the sleep quality.
Fifth, is that a person needs to find people. Not any sort of person. It needs to be people who you love, who love you, and who will tell you the truth. To put it another way, find people who you can connect with deeply, personally, honestly, and knows your secrets (and doesn’t run away).
Sixth, a person needs to learn to trust in God’s ferrous love for them.
Burnout is real and can happen to anyone at any time. Please take steps to minimize its affects or heal from it if you have or are currently experiencing it.
